FGS achieves ISO 9001 accreditation

FGS is pleased to announce that following an assessment by UKAS accredited assessors ISOQAR, Fish Guidance Systems has achieved recognition for its quality management systems with the award of ISO 9001:2008 certification.

ISO 9001 is the world's most highly recognised standard for a quality management system, and the accreditation covers all aspects of the company's work, including the research, development, design, assembly, commissioning, hire and servicing of the company's behavioural fish deflection systems.

Dr David Lambert, UK General Manager of FGS comments - "This certification is very important to us and I'm sure, to our customers. While we already had a number of quality assurance procedures in place, achieving the ISO 9001 accreditation demonstrates to our existing and future customers FGS's continuing commitment to both the quality and reliability of our systems.

The task was made considerably easier with the invaluable help of our consultant Neil Peattie, Principal Consultant of NPT Management Systems, who worked with our team of engineers and scientists to develop the management systems required by the standard. The ISOQAR assessors summarised the audit by saying 'This is a very well written quality management system, with excellent documentation and good traceability throughout'. We wouldn't have achieved this without Neil's constant enthusiasm, commitment and support".

Dr Andrew Turnpenny, Fish Guidance Systems' Fisheries Director, added - "Obtaining the ISO 9001 certification supports what we do as a company. I am thrilled that we have earned this accreditation, which highlights our commitment to providing solutions to help protect the environment".
